A step challenge launches with a company-wide email. A month later the leaderboard is the same dozen people who already ran at lunch, and everyone else has stopped opening the app.

Wellness programs usually fail this way. The tool works, but it reaches the people who needed it least and sits apart from everything else employees use at work. Gallup reports that global engagement fell to 20% in 2025, and the World Health Organization estimates that depression and anxiety cost 12 billion working days a year.

Corporate wellness software now covers very different jobs: fitness access, mental health care, challenges, benefits administration. We compared 10 platforms on wellbeing scope, participation, clinical depth, reporting and reach. The order groups them by use case, not by score.

Disclosure: Xoxoday publishes this guide and Empuls is one of the 10. All are judged on the same criteria.

What makes a good corporate wellness platform?

A wellness platform is only as good as the share of your workforce that uses it.

We judged every platform on five tests:

  • Wellbeing scope. Physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing are different needs. Check which ones a platform covers itself and which it hands to a partner.
  • Participation. Mobile access, device sync and challenges that people want to join decide whether usage spreads past the already-active.
  • Clinical depth. Therapy, coaching and psychiatry need licensed providers. A content library is not a substitute.
  • Reporting and links to engagement. If wellbeing data cannot sit beside survey and recognition data, HR cannot tell which program moved which number.
  • Reach and integrations. Named HR, payroll and collaboration integrations matter more than a generic integrations page.

Scope and participation carried the most weight, since they decide who the program reaches. Feature claims come from each vendor's public pages, written in our own words. Ratings come from G2 and Capterra as of October 2026 and change over time. Where a score rests on fewer than 20 reviews, we show the count.

Three vendors here were renamed or acquired recently, and one had no readable site when we checked. We flag each in its entry. Confirm current packaging in a demo.

  • Wellness marketplace and lifestyle spending accounts in the same platform as recognition
  • Recognition, surveys and 10M+ rewards in 150+ countries on one dashboard

What to ask before you choose a wellness platform

Most comparisons skip the question that decides whether a rollout works. Will people use it a third time? Ask every vendor these four questions.

  • What share of eligible employees use it after three months? Ask for participation by role and location, not a single average.
  • Which needs does it cover itself, and which does a partner cover? Get a written list of what is built in and what is a referral.
  • Can wellbeing data sit beside our survey and recognition data? Ask to see one report that shows both.
  • Does it connect to our HRIS, payroll and chat tools? Ask for named integrations, not a generic list.

Which wellness platform should you choose?

Start from the job you need done. If you want wellbeing tied to recognition and engagement, start with Empuls. For large-employer wellness with benefits administration, look at Personify Health or Limeade. For challenges and rewards, compare Wellable and Woliba. If fitness access is the goal, look at Wellhub. If clinical mental health care is the priority, compare Spring Health and Lyra Health. If you want mindfulness content, or to lift use of an existing EAP, look at Headspace for Work or Calm Health.
